This clearly depicts how serious the issue of obesity on teens is. B. some people believe that obesity is not a major issue and has no effects on them health wise. However, professional personnel and bodies clearly points out that obesity is a very serious and life threatening epidemic which is affecting a good number of people and so, it needs immediate attention. Maintaining the obesity level will prevent negative health effects and it will promote many mental and physical health benefits. According to Collins and Bentz, significant weight loss confers psychological as well as medical benefits with improved mood, high self-esteem, motivation and relationship. 3. There are many health benefits that come with low obesity rate. Li Ji and Neal H. Hooker argue that, students who are fit are more active, confident and have low chances of getting depressed due to self-dissatisfaction .in addition to that, Rossner also points out that, less obese people don’t have difficulties in breathing and walking, they are more agile and they have low chances of getting heart disease. Also, premature death, back pain is uncommon Among those who have less obesity rate. A. It will help students from low income families by providing them with healthy food while trying to curb obesity. 1.Students who come from families whose parents’ income is low, have higher chances of getting obese. Li and Hooker point out that children with low social economic status are more burdened with obesity since they take part in programs like National Lunch Program.
